MDC is the cutting-edge political hardcore band of old school, originally from Austin, Texas. Since 1982 the band has operated from San Francisco, California. MDC will once again come over to play a bunch of shows in Finland during the spring of 2025.
A forerunner of all American anarcho punk groups, in a true sense of the word, also known as Millions Of Dead Cops, will play in Turku (Iloinen Härkä on May 6th), Tampere (Vastavirta on May 7th) and Helsinki (On The Rocks on May 8th) as part of their extensive, 28-show European tour. In May, Cleopatra Records will also release MDC’s cover-album, “The Last War”, which includes 14 carefully selected tracks by the band. The tracklist includes politically edgy songs originally recorded by Stevie Wonder, Motörhead, Slayer etc.
On behalf of Noise.fi, I had the pleasure and honor to interview MDC-leader, vocalist, songwriter, the 69-year-old punk rock veteran, Dave Dictor, as he had just arrived in Amsterdam ahead of the tour. If you want to know what he thinks of the current state of the world politics, 47 years of MDC and touring all over the world after 3000 played gigs, check out the video below.
